2. Priceline claims: "flights depart between 6am - 10pm arriving the same day". Since priceline.com is trying to maximize their profit they will put you on the cheapest flights possible. This usually means that you will be leaving on flights before 6:30am or after 9:30pm since those flights have the least demand and therefore have the lowest prices.
Other important things to consider:
Unlike the airlines and travel agents, priceline.com does not inform those who buy tickets from them of flight cancellations or flight time changes even when the airline informs Priceline of the new flight schedules. One of our flights had a time change (which nearly caused us to miss the flight) and another flight was completely canceled. Priceline was told of these changes and cancellations by the airline weeks in advance but never bothered to tell us. Nor did Priceline deem these inconveniences to us worthy of any compensation.
At least $20 will be added to each and every ticket you buy regardless of how much the actual airport taxes are. Other travel agents seldom add more than a few dollars which is what the actual airport taxes usually are.
Since tickets are "non-refundable, non-changeable and non-endorsable" you may get stuck with tickets on flights that leave before the rental car companies open. We did. It was not possible for us to change to a later flight through the airlines or through priceline.com.
The 'regular' customer service agents are powerless to help you. If you want to talk to a supervisor, you will have to pick up the bill on the long distance phone call(s). The supervisor may promise to call you back--but then won't--so you will be stuck with the (numerous in our case) long distance charges for making your complaint(s).
